Released in the U.S. on November 15, 1995 and now running on PC's and Macs around the world, this auto racing simulation dramatically updates Papyrus' original award-winning Indycar title with all-new features, such as enhanced artificial intelligence, more realistically dramatic accidents, and SVGA graphics.
The program depicts all chassis, engine, and tire combinations from the 1995 CART-PPG IndyCar season and includes 15 of the 17 tracks used, excluding Miami (a one-off temporary circuit) and Indianapolis.
The Brickyard's absence from the game stemmed from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's refusal over granting a license for the track, unlike in ICR1. Since then, however, clever hackers have developed conversion programs which modify the original ICR1 track software and make it compatible for the newer Papyrus titles. So now, to everyone's delight, these slick new animated Indycars can finally race at Indianapolis!
You too can bring Rover and his Maxwell House Penske to the forefront of this amazing new simulation, even at the Brickyard, where thanks to Tony George the CART teams in real life are now persona non grata.

1995 Indianapolis 500 car set (updated May 12, 1996)
This set is designed specifically for use with the converted Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As an added bonus, the dreaded graphic seam problem plaguing ICR2 since its release has FINALLY been patched!
In order to run Indianapolis on ICR2, first obtain a copy of the IMS expansion pack software for ICR1. In early 1996, Papyrus exhausted its back stock (and will not produce any more, since ICR1 is obsolete and since they no longer hold the license from IMS), but it is still reportedly available through the IMS gift shop, Virgin UK, and secondhand retail software outlets may have it on occasion (try calling Gamer's Gold at 1-800-377-8578 - it seldom appears in stock, but when it does, they offer it for $11). It is not necessary to have the rest of ICR1 installed, just a directory with the IMS files on it. Then run the INDY2ICR conversion program, available at The Pits.
The complete car set for the 1995 Indycar season is still available - the first complete set online with all original fake drivers removed, and widely acknowledged by many users as graphically the best car set anywhere for ICR2. All fifteen default licensed cars are completely reworked, and all the remaining cars modified from the beta version release (updated June 14, 1996).
