Rover Jackson in Papyrus Indycar Racing

First released in 1993, Papyrus Indycar Racing won numerous industry awards as an auto racing simulation light years ahead in terms of realism and playability. All 16 Indycar tracks used in this time period appear either on the original program or within expansion software, including Indianapolis.

Of course, where would Indycars be without Rover Jackson? You can now see him competing in both major North American series on your computer screen, as the Maxwell House Penske has now joined the computer racing wars.

The .pcx file for Rover's car is available here as a zipped file. Because of Indycar 1 Paintkit software limitations, this does not include paint shop and helmet colors; just study these screen captures carefully and adjust the settings accordingly.

If demand warrants, and if someone has a 1991 or 1992 cars set available, I will create a Nabisco Penske version for it.

The simulation does not come with a screen capture utility, but an external DOS program made these graphics possible. These only exist in VGA format.

Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions imposed by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indy itself does not exist in Indycar 2, hence the purchase of this otherwise obsolete simulation.

Enjoy these screen captures of Rover's Indycar efforts on road courses, street circuits, and ovals.
