40K RULES POLL

Occasionally, rules can be a bit ambiguous and unclear (big surprise) with different gaming groups having sometimes completely opposite ways of interpreting them. In order to collect a consensus of how others out there interpret or handle some of these, Stealth Mode will now feature a poll of some of the ones that our group (and others) have come across. Results will be archived and new questions gladly accepted by those of you out there. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

Independent Character Deployment

If an Independant Character has been assigned to a unit prior to deployment, when does the model actually deploy?

When the unit it is assigned to is allowed to deploy, the model is deployed along with it.

The model is placed seperately when HQ units are allowed to deploy.

Firing Through Woods

When a unit within woods fires at another unit within a different woods, how far can the firing unit actually "see"?

Up to a total of 6" of woods including both the woods occupied by the firing and target unit.

Up to 6" out of the woods that the firing unit occupies and then up to 6" into the woods of the target unit (12" total).

Rapid Fire Weapons

After a unit has declared a target but before actual range is measured, does a unit equipped with rapid fire weapons...?

Simply measure range with any models within 12" firing twice and any outside of 12" but within maximum range firing once.

Declare that they are using the "rapid fire" ability and then measure range, with models within 12" firing twice and any outside of 12" not being able to fire at all.
