GW GRAND TOURNAMENT 2000 SEATTLE

NOTE: Please excuse the lousy color of the following pictures. They were taken with a "point and shoot" 35mm camera, 400 speed film and with the camera's built in flash. The lighting in the gaming hall varied from very good to very dim, depending on where your table was. Time was at a premium and I could not get pictures of every army that I wanted to (including my own brother's Space Wolves and my friend's Khemri army). These pictures do not fully capture the colors, detail, and work that can only be fully appreciated in person, but hopefully will at least give you an idea of the variety and scale of some of these armies. Enjoy.

UPDATE: A huge collection of very well photographed armies and games from the Seattle GT2000 can be found here.

STARFOXES

My Tournament army. First impression from a lot of players was that this was a Blood Angels Successor Chapter (the colors, I suppose). Note all the scouts 'hiding' in the tree line.

IMPERIAL

CHAOS

A very well painted Night Lords army (I especially liked the bone color throughout). Note the converted Raptors with wings from Tyranid Gargoyles.

The speakers in the "Concert" display were actually hooked up to a walkman and played music.

Summoning of a "Changer of Ways".

TYRANIDS

Brushworks painter, Jason Richards's Tyranids. Voted "Player's Choice" for best Warhammer 40,000 Army. Conversions and little vignettes everywhere.

ELDAR

At first, I thought this was a Dark Eldar army. Upon looking closer it turned out to be a Craftworld Eldar army with a very different color scheme.

Very nice custom Wave Serpant.

ORKS

Beach party theme with a volleyball game and BBQ. Even had the theme to Hawaii 5-0 playing in the background.

Must be an Ork thing as even the Fantasy Orks were found celebrating at "Da Big Skwig Festaval"

BEASTMEN

This Beastman army had an awsome banner. I curse my camera for having the tendancy to cut off a picture from the top when you zoom in on something close.

My friend Roy's Beastmen. We were both up late the night/morning before event trying to get our armies done.

BRETONNIAN "HOLY GRAIL" ARMY

Voted "Player's Choice" for best Warhammer Fantasy Army. This army had almost everything from the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"represented in some way: Authur and his Knights (including the serfs following behind banging two coconuts), the Knights of "Nit", the wizard known as "Tim", The Black Knight (complete with severed limb), the witch burning mob, the killer bunny, massocistic "board" monks, even the French (and one cow)! All that was missing was a "Trojan Rabbit".

LIZARDMEN

Complete with pyramid and lots of jungle foliage.
