| RAYNARD VALENTIA | |||||||||||
| Points | WS | BS | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Sv | ||
| Raynard | 145 | 5 | 5 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 5 | 4 | 10 | 2+ | |
Raynard Valentia, Chapter Master of the Star Foxes, is noted as being meticulous in his preparation before a battle. He understands the importance of military intelligence and places a high priority on all aspects of it. Often outnumbered and outgunned by his adversaries, he is able to use his forces effectively due to the pre-battle efforts of his intelligence gathering resources.
Any Star Fox army over 2000 points in total can be led by Raynard, who counts as one of the HQ choices for the army. He uses the following Wargear and may not be given any additional equipment. He may be used in a battle where both players have agreed to use special characters.
Wargear: Bolter, Hellfire Rounds, power weapon, frag & krak grenades, Terminator honors (bonus included above), and artificer armor.
SPECIAL RULESHellfire Rounds: The Tech-priests of the Star Foxes are able to manufacture a smaller variant of the specialized Heavy Bolter shell called a Hellfire round. These rounds have had the standard boltgun core and tip replaced with a mutanagenic acid vial. When this shell strikes its target, it breaks into thousands of needle-like shards, which penetrate the hide of the target and carry mutagenic acid into its bloodstream. These acids will soon eat through the target's body, rupturing cell tissue and burning through flesh and bone. A Hellfire Round is loaded and fired singly. It always wounds on a 3+ regardless of the target's Toughness.
Crack Shot: Raynard is an exceptionally skilled marksman and may shoot at targets at up to 36 with his bolt gun. Note that the normal 12 range for firing a Rapid Fire weapon remains the same. Independent Character: Unless accompanied by a Command squad, Raynard is an independent character and follows the Independent Character special rules in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. Command Squad: Raynard may be accompanied by a Command squad. Note that Raynard and the Command squad counts as a single HQ choice. Character Scout Option: For no extra point cost, Raynard may be equipped to perform in the role of a Space Marine Scout. He must replace his power armor for artificer scout armor (3+ save). This allows Raynard to use the Infiltrators and Move Through Cover special rules just like other Space Marine Scouts - see the Scout Squad entry in Codex: Space Marines for details. Note that if accompanied by a Command squad, then the entire squad must also take the Character Scout Option (see Star Foxes special rules for details). Strategist: Raynard is a cunning and skillful strategist. He places a high importance on tactical and strategic intelligence gathering before a battle. Using all intelligence sources at his disposal, he then carefully plans and prepares for the upcoming battle. If your army is led by Raynard then when rolling to determine the highest strategy rating for choosing a mission or who will be the attacker/defender of a mission, you may re-roll any two of your dice and will automatically win in the event of a tie. |

A mighty pillar of fire bursts from the ground and engulfs everything in flames. Each model fully or partially under the template are hit automatically (like a flamer). All cover is ignored when resolving hits. The template is left in place on the tabletop. It blocks line of sight and any models touching it at the start of the next movement phase will suffer a hit as described above. A Hellfire template will last until the end of the next turn.
