Not working for now (Sept 2000)
The Aussies and Kiwis have got the JC connection going here.
The club closed to merge with the International Club.
The original club members were hardcore before Rumble made its mark in
the US.
Its a brand new cartoon show with Jackie as the main character. If you like animation and Chan then hopefully this will fit the bill (Sept 2000).
The official site for Alan Smithee movie
Burn Hollywood Burn has disappeared (Sept 2000).
The official New Line Productions site for movie
Rush Hour
.
My comments about
Rush Hour will be posted in the
Filmography page soon.
The official Hong Kong site of the upcoming movie
Who Am I?
. Its mostly in Chinese so that might be a barrier for some of
you.
My comments about
WhoAmI will be posted in the
Filmography page soon.
The original New Line's website for the movie
Mr. Nice Guy is gone.
They did change it to this
link.
The original Hong Kong site of the movie
Mr. Nice Guy
. A lot of the text is in Chinese with some English translations.
My comments about
Mr. Nice Guy in the Filmography page.
This movie was never released in the US theaters. But New Line the movie and they
have a
Police Story website.
Here is Dimension Films' site for
Operation Condor. Its old and doesn't work right. Its linked to a non-existent site too.
My comments about
Operation Condor are in the
Filmography page.
The original official site of Jackie Chan's First Strike is gone (Sept 2000).
But you can check out the updated one at Newline's
First Strike
The official homepage for the movie Thunderbolt is gone. The original ISP also switched to another ISP.
(Sept 2000)
The official Rumble in the Bronx homepage is gone and someone else owns the domain name. But New Line Cinema has a site for now.
Check out this
link
.

Supercop is originally titled Police Story 3: Supercop
1 of 2 Hollywood companies showing Jackie Chan films in America. I previously had a released films link but that is gone now (Sept 2000).
You should check out Dimension Films's list instead.
2 of 2 Hollywood companies showing Jackie Chan films in America.
The have a
Jackie Chan Video Vault which a lot of information and fun stuff for his fans.
I recommend the Chan fans to support New Line because they done a lot for Jackie's work. They renewed a bunch of his movie sites as well as promoting his movies in the US theaters and on video.
Their
"official publicity website"
has a recent film release schedule.
The Official Jackie Chan Autobiography published by Random House.
Lots of information and Jackie's book signing itinerary!
The Essential Jackie Chan Sourcebook
by Jeff Rovin, Kathy Tracy (Contributor), Kathleen Tracy. ISBN: 0671008439
Jackie Chan : Inside the Dragon
by Clyde, III Gentry.
They have the following titles:
Armor of God, Dragon Forever, Drunken Master II, Heart of a Dragon,
Island of Fire, Police Story, Police Story 2, Police Story 3: Supercop,
and Young Master
* I am protesting the strong-arm business practices of Tai Seng. Their prices are also grossly inflated. Anyone can easily purchase the same products online from Hong Kong and still save money. In accordance to my protest, I have removed their website link which I previously listed.
They got ten videos and I only like the following:
Fearless Hyena,
Spiritual Kung Fu,
Dragon Fist, and
Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin.
Criterion only has Supercop in their collection. Hopefully they
will add some of Jackie's movies such as Dragons Forever and
Drunken Master II.
World Video has been distributing Chinese productions in the US since 1983.
They currently have only two of Jackie's old
movies on video but they are good ones - Drunken Master and
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow. These guys don't have any Chan DVDs.
They are the biggest US distributor of Hong Kong movies. They carry
some of Jackie's recent films on video and laser disc.
Go to their site to see a myriad of titles. Download some Quicktime
clips while you're at it.
These guys seem to have the most Jackie Chan movie titles for sale.
Note that the prices are not cheap but that's generally the going
market price else where too. Like my mamma always told me, "You
betta shop around."
Personally, I don't recommend them because of the quality of their videos which
they record in extended play mode. But their videos are inexpensive. You will
have to decide what you want.
This is a very good video and laser disc business. They generally take
films from different types of genre and make a quality uncut copy.
They also try to get the creators of the films for
input on the film-to-video reproduction.
As of October 1997, they are still under construction and there is jack
squat to look at besides an e-mail address and a background pic. But
it will develop after awhile. Anyways... some people like this UK
store and others don't.
Its not an actual retailer but a guide pointing to actual stores and
rental places.
Here's a good site that is continuously updated and it contains a wealth
of information on different video store locations and helpful insider
notes from its contributors. I will have to admit... renting is
the best way to go.
It my own guide to the video shops in Hawaii. Each store has a URL pointing
to a visual map at Yahoo!Maps.
They are not a retailer but a magazine that lists all the
up-n-coming laser disc and DVD release dates with list prices.
The information includes movies from many genres. If you
are a serious digital disc movie collector then this is a great
site to bookmark.
This site is missing from AOL (10/97)
If you don't know by now...Stanley has directed several of Jackie's
recent films which includes Rumble in the Bronx, Supercop,
and Police Story: First Strike.
Michelle is that major butt-kicker from the movie Supercop. She has
done several other action movies in Hong Kong. Apparently, she has also
been chosen to be an upcoming Bond girl. Watch out Pierce Brosnan!!
Maggie Cheung has done numerous Hong Kong movies and lately a European film.
Her big break started as the girlfriend-in-distress role for Jackie Chan's
Police Story movies. Over the past few years, she has won
a several awards including the Berlin Film Fest's Silver Bear.
Samo has known Jackie since they were little kids in the Peking Opera
School. He has worked on many films with Jackie as well as other films
on his own. Samo excels in directing and fight choreography. Now he
has a prime time tv show called Martial Law. You can find info on the
show at the CBS network website.
This is one of the most comprehensive resources on Hong Kong movies for
purchase. Since a majority of Jackie's films originate from Hong Kong
this FAQ is a good guide in starting your collection. Note that US has
not seen the best of Chan's previous films yet (9/97).
Similar to the Oscars in America, the Hong Kong Film Awards has their
annual selection of films made in Hong Kong. I will have to warn the
non-Chinese-reading JC fan that there is a lot of Chinese language at
this website so you may not understand much.
I can't vouch for them because I haven't traded anything with them. So you will have to find that out yourself. Caveat emptor. But they do have a list of people who are "bad" traders.
Please let me know of any good sites or
if any of the listed sites have gone.
