Weaving news media, reality,
fantasy, visionary, imaginary and otherworldly reality with humor,
line, form and color, commentary, topicality, and a high level
of aesthetics is a challenge. I try to focus on current issues
articulated on a metaphorical level rather than recreating a mere
copy of reality. Each narrative creates a fantastical aesthetic
world where human folly and dilemma are expressed in such a way
that the beauty and ugliness of human activity and psyche thrive
in a complex pictorial recipe.

My works takes the form of a dream
state because this is where we get our communication both directly
from our body and from our source. So my paintings are like a
dream state- confusing, surreal and mixed up with snatches that
look like familiar reality. Also dreams use a "universal" visual
language, which is ironically often incredibly difficult to decipher.
But dreams communicate much like paintings using metaphor, puns
and humor to make their point, so there is often a literal way
into the code, which I often draw upon.
