DHCP Ethernet Configuration for Windows Vista
This page describes how to setup Windows Vista for DSL via DHCP Note: This setup is not recomended for a computer being used as a file server
- Click on the Start menu, and select Control Panel.
- Click on Network and Internet.
- Click on Network and Sharing Center.
- Click on Manage network connections.
- Right click on Local Area Connection and choose Properties. If Windows say it needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Select Use the following IP address.
- Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway information provided to you by LavaNet.
- Select Use the following DNS server addresses
- In the Preferred DNS server, field, enter 64.65.64.1
- In the Alternate DNS server, field, enter 64.65.64.65
- Click "OK" out of all of these screens.
- Restart your computer.
- You should now be configured to use your LavaNet DSL.
