will be open for normal business hours the following day, Friday November

Nifty Telnet SSH

This page describes how to setup Nifty Telnet SSH to connect to LavaNet through a secured shell

  • Download NiftyTelnet SSH and install it on your computer. (Note: you will need to have Stuffit Expander located here)

Double Click the "NiftyTelnet SSH Icon.

Click the "New" button on the "New Connection" Window.

In the "Shortcut Name" field type: LavaNet.

In the "Host Name" field type: shell.lava.net.

Click the "Save" button. You should see a new entry named LavaNet.

In the "User Name" field type: your username.

Click the "OK" button. You should see a new entry named LavaNet.

To use Nifty Telnet, double click the "LavaNet" entry.

On the first connection to any secured host you will see an alert. After clicking the "Accept & Save" button a copy of the host's key is copied to your computer. You should not see this window the next time you try to login. After the host's key is copied to your computer you should see a prompt to login.

Type you password in the "Password" text box.

Then click the "Login" button.

Congratulations, you now have secured access to your LavaNet shell account!
