Outlook Express IMAP-SSL
- Go to Tools - Accounts - Mail
- Choose Add and select Mail
- The Internet Connection Wizard will start. You wil have to enter some information in the following:
- Display Name :
- Email Address : (your LavaNet email address)
- Email server names:
- My incoming server is a: (select IMAP)
- Incoming mail server: mail.lava.net
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.lava.net
- Account Name: (your LavaNet username)
- Password (your LavaNet password)
- Once the information has been entered, click Finish
- Go to Tools - Accounts - Mail. Select the profile that was just added and click Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and below Incoming mail (IMAP) check 'This server requires a secure connection' (SSL). Do not do this for Outgoing mail (SMTP).
- Go to the IMAP tab. Enter your Root folder path like this: ~yourlogin/mail
Outlook Express POP-SSL
- Go to Tools - Accounts - Mail
- Choose Add and select Mail
- The Internet Connection Wizard will start. You wil have to enter some information in the following:
- Display Name :
- Email Address : (your LavaNet email address)
- Email server names:
- My incoming server is a: (select POP3)
- Incoming mail server: mail.lava.net
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.lava.net
- Account Name: (your LavaNet username)
- Password (your LavaNet password)
- Once the information has been entered, click Finish
- Go to Tools - Accounts - Mail. Select the profile that was just added and click Properties.
- Go to the Advanced tab and below Incoming mail (POP) check 'This server requires a secure connection' (SSL). Do not do this for Outgoing mail (SMTP).
Eudora 5/6/7 Windows (IMAP & POP SSL)
- Check your mail with Eudora. You may get an error message or a message saying that you don't have any mail.
- Go to Eudora's toolbar and select Tools -> Options.
- From the Options dialog box, scroll to the Checking Mail icon in the Category panel.
- From the settings panel that now appears, go to the pull-down menu for If Available, STARTTLS
- In the new window that comes up, at the top, make sure the server name reads 'pop.lava.net'.
- Click on the 'Certificate Information Manager' button.
- In the list at the top under "Server Certificates" that US, pop.lava.net... is selected (ignore the skull and crossbones)
- Click on the button labeled 'Add To Trusted'
- Click Done
- Click OK
Eudora 5/6 Macintosh (IMAP & POP SSL)
- To configure your SSL connection, select Special -> Settings.
- From the list in the Settings window, click on the SSL icon.
- From the SSL window, select SSL for POP/IMAP, then select Required, Alternate Port from the pull-down menu.
- Exit Eudora and reopen it before using SSL for the first time.
Netscape 4.7x Messenger (IMAP SSL)
- From the toolbar, select Edit -> Preferences.
- On the left-hand side of this settings window, find Mail and Newsgroups and select Mail Servers from this pull-down menu.
- From the Mail Servers list, select Incoming Mail Servers. Click Edit.
- Exit Netscape Messenger and reopen it before you use SSL for the first time.
