This page describes how to configure Eudora Light 3

Note: The "Settings" menu may automatically appear the first time running Eudora Light, however, if it does not, follow the instructions below.

Windows users:

• Open Eudora Light by Clicking on the Eudora Light icon.
• Click on "Tools".
• Click on "Options".

Macintosh Users:

• Open Eudora Light by Clicking on the Eudora Light icon.
• Click on "Special".
• Click on "Settings".

Both Users

• Click on the "Getting Started" icon (it is the first icon on the left).
• "Pop account:" enter your username (first part of your email address) followed by @pop.lava.net.
• "Real name:" enter your real name (this name will appear next to your email address when sending an email).
• "Return address:" enter your LavaNet email address.
• "Connection Method:" select "Winsock (Network, PPP, SLIP)".
• Leave "Offline" unchecked.
• Click on the "Hosts" icon.
• "POP account:" your username followed by @pop.lava.net (should already be there).
• SMTP:" enter smtp.lava.net.
• "Ph:" Leave this blank.
• "Finger:" Leave this blank.
• Click on the "Checking Mail" icon.
• "Check for mail every ___ minutes:" this is to set Eudora Light to check mail while on line. 15-20 minutes is usually adequate, or "0" minutes means that mail will be check only at your prompt.
• Check "Send on check".
• Check "Save password" if you don't want to be prompted to enter your password every session.
• Under "Authentication style:" select "Passwords".

You are now configured to check your LavaNet email. Click"OK" on the bottom. It is recommended to exit out of Eudora Light after configuring and then restart the program to check your mail or send messages.
