This page describes how to configure Outlook Express for Windows
- Open Outlook Express by Clicking on the Outlook Express icon
- Click on "Tools"
- Click on "Accounts"
- Click on the "Mail" tab.
- Click on the "Add" button and select "mail"
- Type your name, this is the name that will appear on your email address
- Click "Next"
- Type in your mail address
- Click "Next"
- Make sure the incoming mail server is a POP3 server
- The "incoming mail (POP3) server" is: pop.lava.net
- The "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" is: smtp.lava.net
- Click "Next"
- You Account name is your username (the part before the @lava.net)
- Type your password in the text field
- "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) should be left blank
- Click "Next"
- Click on Tools
- Select Accounts
- Click on the Mail tab
- Double click on your LavaNet email account "pop.lava.net"
- Click on the Servers tab
- Check the check box next to "My server requires quthentication"
- Click on the "Settings" button
- Select "Log on using"
- Put in your LavaNet username for the Account name, and your LavaNet password
- Click "OK"
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Check the check boxes for the SSL option for both Outgoing and Incoming mail.
- Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server port number to 465
- The Incoming mail (POP) server port number should be 995
- Click "OK"
You are now configured to check your LavaNet email. Click the "Close" button. It is recommended to exit out of Outlook Express after configuring and then restart the program to check your mail or send messages.
