This page describes how to configure Outlook 2000 for Windows.
- Open Outlook98 or Outlook2000 by Clicking on the Microsoft Outlook icon.
- Click "Next".
- If you do not get a "Startup" screen as shown, open Outlook2000 and click on Tools | Accounts | Click on the mail tab | Click on the "Add" button and select "Mail".
- Highlight "Outlook Express" if you would like to import settings from Outlook Express, else highlight "None of the above".
- Click "Next" to continue.
- Select "Internet Only".
- Click "Next" to continue.
- Type your name, this is the name that will appear on your email address.
- Click "Next" to continue.
- Type in your email address.
- Click "Next" to continue.
- Make sure the incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
- The "incoming mail (POP3) server" is: pop.lava.net
- The "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" is: smtp.lava.net
- Click "Next".
- You "Account name" is your username (the part before the @lava.net).
- Type your password in the text field.
- "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) should be left blank.
- Click "Next".
- It is recommended to select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)". This will assume that you already are connected to the Internet and will not try to redial when checking and sending mail.
- Click "Next".
You are now configured to check your LavaNet email. Click the "Close" button. It is recommended to exit out of Outlook98/2000 after configuring and then restart the program to check your mail or send messages.
