Luis A. Manrique, the Manager of Luigi's Lawn and Garden Services, holds an advanced degree in agriculture from University of Hawaii. Luis has worked in agriculture in the tropics for the last 20 years. He also manages Manrique International Agrotech (MIAT), a consulting company specialized in tropical agriculture. MIAT provides technical assistance in tropical agriculture throughout South and Central America and the Pacific Basin. In early 2005, Luis spent three months in San Diego working on greenhouse technology for the production of tomatoes and cucumbers. In May 2005, on behalf of an USAID program he spent three weeks in Russia helping local farmers to improve their greenhouse production technology for vegetables.
